Coach - Job Specification
Leeds Laces is a community‑driven club committed to creating inclusive, empowering football environments for women and non‑binary people. Our coaches play a vital role in shaping positive experiences, supporting player development, and helping teams thrive both on and off the pitch.
Role Purpose
To plan and deliver high‑quality, inclusive football coaching for a Leeds Laces team, working collaboratively with another coach, team managers, and captains to ensure players have a supportive, organised, and enjoyable football experience.
Time Commitment
Training: 2 hours per week
Matchdays: Approximately 3 hours per week (September–May season, with occasional summer friendlies)
This role will be fixed for 1 year, with the opportunity to renew in the summer.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Player Development
Plan and deliver weekly training sessions in collaboration with another coach, ensuring sessions are engaging, inclusive, and appropriate for the team’s level.
Create a positive learning environment that supports player confidence, development, and enjoyment.
Adapt coaching approaches to meet the needs of players with varying experience and ability levels.
Matchday Leadership
Select matchday line‑ups in consultation with the coaching team, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with club values.
Coordinate substitutions and in‑game tactical decisions.
Support players with constructive feedback and encouragement throughout
matchdays.
Team Co-ordination & Administration
Work closely with team managers and captains to ensure all relevant team admin is completed (e.g., availability, matchday logistics, league requirements).
Communicate clearly and proactively with players and team leads.
