League placement confirmed for Debut Season

Leeds Laces FC can confirm the First Team’s league placement for the upcoming season, following this year’s annual AGM where the proposal was voted through.

For our debut season, we will complete in The West Riding County Women’s Football League Division 6, lining up against 11 other teams made entirely of new entrants to the league. Here’s who Leeds Laces will face this season:

  • Farsley Reserves

  • Forge Way Reserves

  • Greengates

  • Horsforth st Margarets Thirds

  • Leeds City Reserves

  • Leeds Modernians U21

  • Morley Town Reserves

  • Rothwell

  • Tadcaster Albion Development

  • Twenty Three

  • Wetherby Athletic

Division 6 is a mix of new faces and familiar names in women’s grassroots football – with Leeds City, Leeds Mods, Tadcaster and Horsforth, fielding second and third teams for the first time. It won't be a straightforward season as these sides are backed by established first teams with competitive experience behind them. It all sets the stage for an exciting first season, with Leeds Laces going up against a strong and varied field from the very first whistle.

It's good news for supporters, too. With every club in the division based close to home, fixtures look set to stay local this season, meaning more away days within easy reach, so come and show your support!

Blake Campbell, Head Coach said, “While we're excited by the challenge of competing, our immediate focus is on building a sustainable club with strong foundations that will support long-term growth and success. For us, success is about creating opportunities for women to play, develop and enjoy football in an environment that is ambitious, inclusive and built on community. We want Leeds Laces Football Club to be a place where players feel valued, supported and challenged, but also somewhere they look forward to coming each week. If people leave training having improved, enjoyed themselves and felt part of the club, we're building exactly the culture we set out to create.”

With our league now confirmed, attention turns to preparations for our exciting debut season!
